This weekend is 'Finals Weekend' - the most important two days in the club calendar for internal competitions.
Competitions start at 2pm on Saturday 4th September and continue at 10am on Sunday 5th.
The Running Order for the two days is attached. It shows the 22 finalists as well as the umpires, markers and scorers.
The weather forecast is looking warm and dry so please come and support those that have made it through to the finals. The bar will be open and I am delighted to say that food will be on sale again - after its forced absence last year due to Covid 19 - cakes on Saturday afternoon and sandwiches and cakes on Sunday. There is plenty of seating either around the green or in the shade in the marquees. Please just remember to bring a credit card!!
Trophies will be presented after play on both days by Brian Levens, our President.
As ever, I am very grateful for all the members who are working hard to make this weekend such a special event: - those that will make sure that the three rinks and the green and its surroundings are in great shape - the officials that will make sure the finals are run correctly - those that will prepare and serve the food - those that will stock the bar and serve drinks. A big 'thank you' to our great team of volunteers.
Congratulations to all the finalists. I look forward to seeing you this weekend along with all your supporters.
Enjoy yourselves but remember the pandemic continues so please sanitise your hands when you arrive and keep a sensible distance apart.
Finally, if you park in the Cricket Club you must only park in one of our six spaces. There are spaces in both the Library, Flying Start and St Michaels on Saturday afternoon and Sunday. See your Membership Book for details.
